Joshua Essoe’s Action Sequences & Sex Scenes is the first in the Essoe’s Guides to Writing series. Each book is two-in-one book that addresses two related aspects of writing, and the common mistakes editors like Essoe see on a regular basis.
I very much enjoyed these books. I learned quite a bit about building tension, inserting emotion, and figuring out the right amount of blood/sex to include in scenes. While I write primarily non-fiction, I write enough fiction that the principles taught in this one book will have a ripple effect through all of my writing.
Plus, the covers and illustrations are all by artist James Artimus Owen, so you know it’s beautiful. I would definitely recommend Action Sequences & Sex Scenes to all authors.
