Moving Toward America vs Britain
Often while editing, I’ll spot an American verses British preference thing going on. And it’s always interesting to me who chooses what.
“Toward” is used by most English speakers in North America. “Towards” is used by English speakers nearly everywhere else.
So, while proofing an audio book, written by an American, but narrated by a British bloke (whose voice makes me want to melt), the number one error I’m noting is the addition of the S on the end of toward. Every. Single. Time. It’s. Used.
Isn’t English fun?
Continuity Editor & Virtual Assistant
Hello! I’m Adriel Wiggins, wife, mother of three, fur mom, bibliophile, art geek, and all around student. I’ve been on a quest all of my life to learn as much as I possibly can about everything I possibly can. This has helped me tremendously in what eventually became my life’s purpose: to help other people become the best version of themselves. It is in that line that I became an assistant.
