The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile just completely revolutionized how I think about myself and my family! And this is coming from someone who really knows and uses S.E.L.F.!!
Did you see my post on Wednesday about What I Learned from Opening a Business 😳 ? In it, I talked about the continuing lessons I learn as my business and I both grow. And one of the key factors in growth is understanding yourself.
Like I said, I am a huge believer in the S.E.L.F personality type system. I wish I could give you a link to a handy guide for it, but I can’t seem to find one line, only the printed version I’ve had for almost two decades. You’ll note there’s only four basic types (social, efficient, loyal, factual). And it was a bit interesting to try to fit nine enneagram types into the four S.E.L.F. types. But the more I learned from Cron and Stabile, the easier it became to identify all nine types within the four types. It was a fun little brain exercise for me!
If you’re not familiar with S.E.L.F, D.I.S.C, or any of the other four-type systems, and you want to learn about personality types but Myers-Briggs seems TOO MUCH for you, I highly suggest the enneagram.
The really awesome thing about The Road Back To You was that it has a spiritual focus. I especially loved the Ten Paths to Transformation section of each type. I’ve bookmarked those for each of the types of people living in my household. My children may get sick of me telling them what their Ten Paths are. 😀
