Frostbitten by Destiny Hawkins

Destiny Hawkins’ Frostbitten is the first in the Ice Rose Series. It is the origin story of a vampire named Faith, and how she adjusts to her new world, under the eye of her supernatural vampire maker Alexa. Since Alexa is unique, even among vampires, there are a lot of adjustments both Alexa and Faith have to make to their lives. Frostbitten was very well written, with beautiful imagery and captivating characters. Faith was, however, a heroin addict before she was turned, so there is discussions of drug use and being high. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for teens, but it’s good for adults. I enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
